Houston Business Journal: Former RigNet CEO takes top board seat at Houston-based network infrastructure co.

Houston-based Infrastructure Networks Inc. — also called INET — has appointed the former top executive of RigNet (Nasdaq: RNET) to lead its board of directors.

Mark Slaughter, who left his post at RigNet in 2016, is now executive chairman at INET, according to a May 22 press release.

“We are delighted to have Mark join the INET board and serve as our chairman. His experience, background and enthusiasm for INET make him a welcomed addition to the INET team,” Scott Crist, the company’s CEO, said in a statement. “Mark’s involvement will help the company continue its rapid growth, enabling the digital oil field over its advantaged wireless platform.”

Slaughter took a position as CEO of Calgary-based Osprey Informatics in April. There are already ties between Osprey and INET — the two companies formed a strategic partnership in March around remote video surveillance and analysis in the energy sector, according to a press release at the time.

Slaughter is taking the top spot on the board from Crist, who has been with the company since 2011, the year it was founded, according to INET’s website.
